Located in the heart of St. Ann parish, Browns Town Primary School has been a cornerstone of education in Jamaica since 1924. For over a century, our school has nurtured generations of students from Browns Town, Middle Buxton, Lower Buxton, and surrounding communities, preparing them to become the doctors, teachers, engineers, and leaders who continue to serve Jamaica with distinction.
Founded with a clear mission to enhance the holistic development of our students through efficient use of all available resources, Browns Town Primary has weathered challenges and celebrated triumphs throughout its remarkable history. From our humble beginnings near the town's recreation ground—where we were affectionately known as the 'Park School'—to our current modern facilities opened in 2000, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to educational excellence.
Today, Browns Town Primary proudly serves 828 students with a dedicated team of 43 teaching professionals under the leadership of Principal Monica Campbell Coley. Our students consistently achieve strong results in Primary Exit Profile examinations, earning places at prestigious secondary institutions. Most recently, we celebrated victory in the inaugural Environmental Quiz and Expo in January 2026, demonstrating the caliber of education and student achievement that defines our school.
As we enter our second century of service, Browns Town Primary remains more than an academic institution—we are a community where friendships flourish, values are instilled, and excellence is not just our motto, but our way of life. With the continued support of our active board, committed staff, and engaged families, we look forward to many more years of nurturing young minds and building bright futures.
